1) Who We Are

Deuce ("Deuce," "we," "us," or "our") provides a mobile application (the "App") that helps users discover tennis courts, connect with other players, organize games, and participate in local communities.

2) Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

Account & Profile

• Email, first name, last name
• Profile photo (image URL)
• Skill level, sports preferences, availability, fun fact
• Age, gender, and date of birth (if you choose to provide them)
• Preferred courts and other profile details

User Content & Activity

• Messages and communications (DMs, group/community chats, game chats)
• Posts, comments, and community activity
• Games and match results
• Bookmarks and saved locations
• Photos you upload (profile, community photos, court photos)
• If enabled in the App: events you create or join (which may include location details)

B. Information We Collect Automatically

Device & Technical Data

• Platform (iOS/Android)
• Device identifiers used for push notifications (where available)
• IP address (used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting)

Usage & Diagnostics

Basic usage and operational data needed to provide features and keep the App working (for example, to support messaging, matchmaking, and troubleshooting)

C. Location Data

If you grant permission, we collect foreground location data while you are using the App. We do not request background location permission.

Location data may include:

• Precise latitude/longitude from your device (GPS coordinates)
• Location associated with courts, games, communities, and other features you use

3) How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage accounts and profiles
• Provide core features (court discovery, matchmaking, games, communities)
• Enable messaging and communication between users
• Show relevant nearby players, courts, and games (depending on your permissions/settings)
• Send push notifications (messages, updates, invites, reminders)
• Maintain security, prevent fraud/abuse, and enforce rules
• Respond to support requests and troubleshoot issues
• Comply with legal obligations

4) What Other Users Can See

Deuce is a social app. Some of your information is visible to other users as part of core functionality.

Depending on your settings and how you use the App, other users may see:

• Profile details (name, photo, skill level, sports, availability, fun fact)
• Your participation in games/communities (and other activity you choose to make visible)
• Location-related information used for discovery (for example, approximate distance or area)

We do not intend to display publicly: your email address.

If you want to limit location-based features, you can disable location permissions in your device settings. Disabling location may reduce or break nearby discovery functionality.

5) How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We share information in the following ways:

A. With Other Users

To enable social features, we share certain profile and activity information. Location-related discovery features may display limited location information to other users depending on your settings.

B. With Service Providers (Third Parties)

We use third-party services to operate the App, including:

• Clerk (authentication/user management)
• Supabase (database and file storage)
• Stream Chat (real-time messaging)
• Google Places API (place search/autocomplete)
• Expo Push Notification Service (push notification delivery)

These providers process data on our behalf to provide their services.

C. For Legal, Safety, and Business Transfers

We may share information:

• To comply with law, legal process, or government requests
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of Deuce and our users
• In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets (we will provide notice when required)

6) Purchases & Subscriptions (If Offered)

If you purchase a subscription, Apple processes payment information. We do not receive your full payment card details. We may receive information needed to provide access, such as subscription status (active/inactive) and product identifiers.

7) Public File Storage Notice

Photos may be stored using Supabase Storage in buckets configured as public (for example, profile pictures, community photos, and court photos). This generally means an image may be accessible to anyone with the direct URL.

8) Messaging and Communications

We use Stream Chat to provide direct messages and group/community messaging. Message content and chat metadata may be processed and stored by Stream as part of providing messaging functionality.

We do not provide end-to-end encrypted messaging.

9) Your Choices and Controls

You can:

• Access/update your profile information in the App
• Delete your account via Settings → Delete Account
• Disable location permissions in your device settings (this may limit nearby discovery)
• Disable push notifications in your device settings
• Block and report other users (where available)

10) Account Deletion and What Happens to Your Data

When you delete your account, we may perform a soft delete and anonymize certain information. For example:

• Your profile may be anonymized (e.g., "Deleted User") and your email replaced with a placeholder
• Some messages may be anonymized (e.g., replaced with "[Message from deleted user]")
• Some activity/history (such as match results) may be retained in anonymized form
• Certain data may be deleted (for example, bookmarks, push tokens, notifications, feedback, and other linked records)

We may retain limited information as necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and backup integrity.

11) Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to:

• Provide the App
• Maintain records for safety/security and fraud prevention
• Comply with legal obligations

Retention periods may vary by data type. Where feasible, we delete or de-identify data when it is no longer needed.

12) Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

13) Children's Privacy

Deuce is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

14) International Users

Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside of where you live (for example, where our service providers operate). We take steps designed to ensure appropriate safeguards when required by law.

15) Legal Rights (Depending on Where You Live)

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Request access to or deletion of personal information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive a copy of your information (portability)
